Bibliography

Over the course of the centuries, the Heidelberg Catechism has been republished many times, in different languages, editions and formats.  In addition, a large number of commentaries and books have been written about the contents and history of the Catechism.

Rev. Eric Bristley has collated an extensive and annotated bibliography of published editions of the Catechism, as well as books written about the Catechism.  This labour of love began as an M.Th. project at Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) in 1983.  More recently he has begun transferring this bibliography into Zotero, an open source bibliographic software package.  Both the digital and the online print bibliographies are available below.

Please note: both bibliographies still need refining and updating.  Anyone who is willing to help with this project is encouraged to contact us.
